Jordan Daniels- “A Piece of My Heart”

My name is Jordan Daniels. I am so thankful that my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is in control of my life and guides me every step of the way. I love being active, running, traveling, cooking, volunteering and serving at-risk and minority youth. I am passionate about social justice and plan on pursuing a career in education. I am incredibly blessed with amazing people in my life and the opportunities God provides for me. One such opportunity was traveling to Kenya with Team Agape and meeting the amazing people and kids at New Life Mission. I am forever humbled by their gracious and joyful hearts. A piece of my heart will always be at New Life. Another one of my greatest blessings is meeting my fiancé Jacob Hirst. We are about to begin our lives together and I am excited for the plans God has for us together!

Sarah Josten- “A Second Home”

New Life Mission has been a second home for me and
for many. And though the battles against the hardships of this life
are at hand for New Life and its incredible network of people, the
joy and the heart for humanity is evident in every program, every
person and every testimony that has been a part of this ongoing
mission. The real transformation for me has been upon the return from
each of these trips–I have come full circle in realizing how
incredibly blessed I am in this life, how much love there is in the
world, and how many people are intricately woven with intentional
significance into the fabric of life. I’m a grad of the University of Washington in International Studies and Nonprofit Managaement, though my true interests lie in sustainable development for communities such
as New Life Mission. As a young person with a restless heart and a lot
of potential, this is just the beginning. Thank you for partnering
with this cause– you are changing the world one person and one place
at a time. You can read my trip blog at: www.teamagapesarah.blogspot.com

and a loving wife. I am currently the deputy director. I am passionate about the children in Kenya and am hopeful that Team

Carly Fitzpatrick- “Kenya’s Beautiful People”

I am currently pursuing degrees in Global Political Science and
Anthropology (archaeology), with an Art minor, at Washington State
University. Go Cougs! I have been privileged enough to have
experienced Kenya’s beautiful people and country on a few
occasions, and I plan to continue visiting for as long as I can. Our
friends from the Samaritan Children’s Home quickly turned into family,
and I have stayed in touch with the friends that I have made all over the world.

My trips to Kenya have tremendously impacted my life. They have shown
me that there are more similarities than differences among all
varieties of peoples and cultures and that happiness is not a result
of an absence of problems; it is the ability to handle them. I was
taught that if the mind is made up to be happy, it will be. This
perspective allows these Kenyans to enjoy who they have more than what they
have. I am very grateful to have been exposed to such attitudes.
