The arrival of Pastor Cliff, from New Life Mission in Kenya, is what prompted the team to act on their desires. The work Cliff and his associates are doing in Kenya is exactly what the team was looking for. The New Life Mission Campus runs an orphanage, schools and many other social welfare projects that demonstrate Agape love to people of Kenya.

In July of 2009 the eight member team set out to Kenya for two weeks. Soon after arriving Team Agape knew their mission was to become the first American ambassadors to the people at New Life Mission.

Since Team Agape’s visit in 2009, three other teams have visited New Life Mission, each with their own stories to tell and passions for the children and staff of New Life.

Since returning to the states, the Team started a 501c(3) non-profit organization. Team Agape’s goal is to raise money to send to New Life Mission in order to help fund the many projects it is involved with. 100% of the donations are sent directly to New Life.

The original Team Agape started with eight teachers and students from Sumner, WA who had a desire to serve those in the local and international community. They formed Team Agape on the notion that one life touching another can produce a world of change. The term “Agape,” a Greek term for “Love as a verb” or showing love towards others through actions, was the perfect way to categorize the mission, heart and evolution of the organization.
